FIESTA ADULT TOURNAMENT
Welcome
20th Annual Santa Barbara Fiesta Soccer Tournament
"The longest running men's adult soccer tournament on the Central Coast"
August 4-5, 2012
Divisions: Over 30, 40, 48 & 55
Dear Team Manager,
The tournament is entering its 20th year of providing an opportunity for adult men’s teams to have a fun weekend of playing soccer, enjoying Santa Barbara, and generating some money that has been used to help support the college soccer program.
I’m writing this letter to announce that we have made some significant changes to the tournament for this coming August. While our objective outlined above will remain the same, our goal is to upgrade the tournament into more of a “soccer event”. For the 3rd consecutive year the tournament will feature:
•One weekend only (same number of teams)
•Use of 9 fields (3 Turf Fields & 6 Renovated Grass Fields)
•Concessions
•Official Tournament Housing (like the fields the dorms have undergone a Multi-million dollar renovation)
In addition, we have changed the format of the tournament over the past years. The new divisions are: Over 30, Over 40, Over 48, and Over 55
Other than the Over 30 division, teams will still be allowed 2 underage players who can be 2 years younger than the cut-off. Teams can still choose to play in a “younger” division even if they have older players.
This new format allows us to compete up to 16 teams per division and each team will be guaranteed 4 games so that there will be plenty of soccer for everybody.
Once again, we will be advertising the tournament nation wide in order to attract a variety of teams to our expanded age divisions. Because Santa Barbara is a vacation destination we believe that the tournament will fill up sooner than in the past.
Once again, I want to thank you for considering the Fiesta Tournaments and look forward to seeing your team this August.
Sincerely,
Tim Vom Steeg
Tournament Director
