2012 marks the second annual UCSB
Summer College ID Camp on the campus of the University
of California, Santa Barbara. The Camp features the
entire staff of the 2004 NCAA National Finalists &
2006 NCAA National Champions Men's Soccer team. This
two-day event is designed for advanced player development
and exposure to the top college coaches. The camp
is an ideal setting for players who have aspirations
of playing collegiate soccer at the top level.
The Santa Barbara Elite Summer ID Camp field player’s
session is designed for players who aspire to play
at the collegiate level. The camp is a challenging
program with training sessions stressing positional
play and advanced team tactics. Daily demonstrations
will be performed by current members of the UCSB Men's
Soccer Team and led by top college coaches.
Players will receive first hand experience of UCSB
Harder Stadium, the site of the 2010 COLLEGE CUP,
and the #1 crowds in the country! The daily program
will incorporate a campus tour and evening classroom
sessions on NCAA recruitment and competition.
Enrollment in the camp is open to all players but
will be limited to only 125 campers to allow individual
attention for each player from the staff of college
coaches. A combination of competitive training sessions
and full 11 vs. 11 games will be at the core of the
camp curriculum.
In the past the camp has offered players an excellent
recruiting opportunity for UCSB and other colleges.
There were six members on UCSB's National Champion
2006 squad who attended the Camp.
There will be only two ID Camps per year in addition
to our two week long Elite Camps in the summer; the
placement into each session will be at the discretion
of the camp staff. The ID Camp is two days in duration
beginning Saturday at 9am and finishing Sunday afternoon
at approximately 5pm.
